Nellie Hoover, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born March 27, 1927 in White Cone, Arizona to Slim and Nora Nez Brown. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook,Arizona. Burial followed at the Holbrook Cemetery. Services were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook, Arizona. Mrs. Hoover was a dedicated house wife and rancher. She raised some of her children in Daggett, California; thereafter, she became a house wife in White Cone, Arizona. Nellie was a member of the C.D.C. (Community Development Committee) in White Cone, Arizona. After the passing of Nellie's husband Herbert Hoover, Sr. she became a rancher. Nellie loved watching wrestling on TV and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. Nellie is survived by her children: Ruth Chatter of White Cone, Arizona, Herbert Hoover, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Carlson Hoover of Kirtland, New Mexico, Moran Pferdeort of Show Low, Arizona, Walter Hoover of Phoenix, Arizona and Judy Lee of White Cone, Arizona; 18 grand children, 22 great grand children, 3 great-great grand children and her brothers and sisters: Mary Brown, Mamie Begay and Nancy Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents Slim and Nora Brown, her husband, Herbert Hoover, Sr., a daughter, Carolyn Hoover, 3 grand children, a sister, Marilyn Browing, and 2 brothers, Lester Brown and Paul Brown.
