Hazel Adonna Wolfington left this life peacefully on October 24, 2013 in Tempe, Arizona at the age of 85. Hazel was born on January 4, 1928 in Douglas, Arizona. Her mother, Eunice Lee Wells, married William Trukke when Hazel was 2 years old. He adopted Hazel and her older brother, Hayes. The family moved to Flagstaff where Hazel attended high school. Hazel married Boyd Wolfington after the war. They built a home in Holbrook, where they spent all of their adult lives heavily involved in the community. Hazel proudly worked for the Navajo County Sheriff's office for 32 years as a deputy and then lieutenant. She cherished those years; loving her work and coworkers. After retiring at age 66, Hazel enjoyed beautifying her yard and playing bridge with her girlfriends. She loved golf, Solitaire, all of the many dogs she owned over the years, and watching sports. Ever the picture of class and elegance, Hazel was respected and loved by all who knew her. Hazel will be missed by her children: Greg (Cathy) Wolfington of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gwen (David) Tilson of Mesa, Arizona; her 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, older brother and grandson, Trevor. The memorial service will begin 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Chapel of Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler, Arizona.
