Herbert Charles Ham, Sr.

Herbert Charles Ham, Sr., Passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Sierra Blanca Care Center in Lakeside, Arizona. He was born on October 1, 1932 to Elmer Ham and Anna McLellan Ham at their home in Phoenix, Arizona. He married Barbara Jean Merrill on November 26, 1954 in Superior, Arizona. Herbert was a native Arizonan who was raised in Peoria, Arizona. He and Barbara raised their family in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a member of the Air National Guard (Active Duty) and he received an Honorable Discharge in 1953. He worked for Mountain Bell from 1953 to 1984. Upon retirement he built his dream home in Show Low, Arizona and moved there in 1990. His favorite activities were golfing, growing roses and family life. He is survived by his wife: Barbara, 3 children ; Lynn (Kari) Spire, Herbert (Myrna) Ham, Jr., and Rodney Ham. 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 3 sisters: Winifred, Frances and Kathy. He is preceded in death by a son: Randy Ham. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1 pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St. in Show Low, Arizona. The family requests donations be made to Sierra Blanca rather than sending flowers.
