Charles was born November 22, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan and died September 12, 2013 in Lakeside, Arizona. He served in WWII as a medic in the Army, and received 2 Bronze Stars. He and his family moved from Michigan to Tucson, Arizona in 1953 where he worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft. After retiring, he spent his summers at his cabin in Show Low, Arizona with his first wife Emily, who preceded him in death in 2003. He married his 2nd wife Etta in Show Low, Arizona in 2005. Etta passed away on September 16, 2013. He is survived by son Arthur (Lona), grandsons Dean (Arwen), Scott, Jay (Allison) and great grandson Bryce; son Timothy (Barbara), Robert (Elyse), Benjamin (Laurie), great granddaughters Tessleigh and Adalie. A Celebration of Life is to be held at the White Mountain United Methodist Church, 261 N. 5th St. in Show Low, Arizona on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Love Kitchen in Pinetop/Lakeside, Arizona.
