Surrounded by her family, Callie Flake passed away just as a new day was dawning on Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona from complications of a lifelong illness that she endured. She was 28 years old. Callie was born on January 26, 1985 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona to her parents, James Scott Flake and the late Carolyn (Canfield) Flake. Callie attracted a wide circle of friends with her optimistic attitude and constant smile. She leaves behind a large family with many cousins who love her. Callie loved to plan parties. She was an avid fan of high school sports and loved cheering for the Snowflake Lobos. She loved attending the community plays, music performances and pageants. Callie was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially loved serving in her church callings and attending the temple. Callie loved life and had a hard time letting go. She cherished her faith in a loving Father in Heaven, her family, her friends and ice cream. She is survived by her father and step-mother: Scott & Sara Flake of Snowflake, Arizona; 2 sisters: Rayni and Ella Flake of Snowflake, Arizona; grandparents: The late Paul Canfield and Marlene Canfield of Centerville, Utah, Dean & Nerita Flake of Snowflake, Arizona and Keith & Susan Larson. Along with her mother and grandfather, Callie was preceded in death by her brother, Lance in 2006. The funeral service will begin 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 175 W. 9th South in Snowflake, Arizona where the visitation will begin 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
