Funeral Services for Beatrice Elizabeth Jarvis, age 99, who peacefully died in Snowflake, Arizona on Thursday, September 5, 2013 will be held on Saturday, September 14th at the Show Low Downtown Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, September 13th at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Show Low and one hour prior to the services at the church. Beatrice was born July 22, 1914 in Show Low at her grandparents home, the eldest child of John R. Young and Mary Louise Nikolaus. She attended school in Eden and Lakeside and spent the summer months during her youth on their farm in Show Low/Fools Hollow area. She married her childhood friend, Earl Jarvis. They had 3 children. Then moved to Show Low in 1945 where they spent the remainder of their lives. When Earl died in 1991, they had celebrated 59 years together and left us with many fond memories to cherish forever. After her family was raised, she began working at the Show Low Post Office where she continued making life-time friends. She retired after 20 years. Her many hobbies included a life-time interest in photography. She donated pictures to local authors and the Show Low Museum. She was an expert seamstress, a master cook and took great pride in working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Throughout her life, including the day before her death, she kept a personal journal, created many scrapbooks and organized over 50 picture albums. Her posterity includes: a son, Marvin(Rosmarie) a daughter, Earlene (Gordon Wahl; deceased (Ivan Rhoton: deceased), a son, Jerry: deceased. 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 44 great-great grandchildren. A treasured memory of Beatrice will be her positive attitude and her genuine love for everyone she met. "We were all her favorite." The family would like to thank the staff of Carriage House and everyone else who visited and cared for Beatrice. Funeral services will be held at the Show Low downtown chapel September 14, 2013, starting at 10:00A.M.
