Bennie Apodaca

Regina "Bennie" Apodaca, of Holboork, Navajo County, Arizona peacefully passed away on August 26, 2013 in Winslow, Navajo County, Arizona. Bennie was born to the late Antonio and Beatriz (Dominguez) Montano in Concho, Apache County, Arizona on November 20, 1923. Bennie lived most of her life in Holbrook having worked for City Drug and Sprouse Reitz among other places. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was involved in the Eucharistic Ministry and the Legion of Mary. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was a Past Unit President, East District President of the Navajo Unit #37 in Holbrook. She was also a life member of the VFW # 3076 in Winslow and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #2450. She enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends. Bennie will be missed by all whom had the privilege to call her sister and friend. She is survived by her brothers, Roger Moyta, Sosie D. Montano and Ralph Montano. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Apodaca; sons, Manuel Apodaca and Wilfredo Apodaca; daughter, Yolanda Caro Apodaca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Friday September 6, 2013 at the Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona, in Holbrook. Interment will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
