Zonie L. Hinton, of Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Whiteriver Indian Health Services in Whiteriver, Arizona. She was 80. Zonie was born to the late Ellison and Sadie (Thompson) Lupe in Cibecue, Navajo County, Arizona on November 13, 1932. Zonie worked for the Theodore Roosevelt School as a cook for nearly 26 years before her retirement in 1995. During the summer months, while school was out, Zonie worked at the Summer Youth Camp as their cook. She loved to travel for the Lord having visited many different states throughout the Country and even had the opportunity to visit several different countries. An avid crafter she loved to sew. She enjoyed acorn picking and watching western movies. Zonie is survived by daughters, Virginia (Bishop Johnny) Curtis of Ft. McDowell, Arizona, Norma (Travis) Susan of Whiteriver, Arizona, Delta Hinton of Diamond Creek, Arizona; sons, Dr. Pastor Timothy (Linda) Hinton Sr. of Whiteriver, Arizona, Daniel ( Bernita) Hinton Sr. of Whiteriver, Arizona, Pastor Samson (Cora) Hinton Sr. of North Fork, Arizona, Merle (Carolene) Hinton of Whiteriver, Arizona, Alex (Kathy) Hinton Jr. of Payson, Arizona, sisters, Phyllis (Minor) Paxson of Seven Mile, Arizona, June Antonio of Whiteriver, Arizona; brothers, Callis Lupe of Whiteriver, Arizona, Roger (Vangie) Burdette of San Carlos, Arizona; 38 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Hinton Sr. and sons, Dallas Hinton Sr. and Michael Hinton; granddaughter, Brianna Susan. A two night wake will begin 10:00AM Thursday August 29, 2013 at the home of Travis and Norma Susan in Whiteriver, 2721 N Paxson Ave. Funeral services will begin 12:00Noon on Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Rose of Sharon Church with the interment to follow in the Morning Dove Cemetery in Cedar Creek, Arizona.
