Louise Movine Guffey, 89, of Snowflake, Arizona, passed away on 08-16-2013 at her home in Snowflake, Arizona. Visitation will be held at Owens Livingston Mortuary, Snowflake, Arizona on Friday, August 23-2013 between the hours of 6-8 PM.Funeral services will be held at Burton Baptist Church on Saturday, August 24th at 10:00 A.M. with reverend Matt Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at The Burton Cemetery. Louise was born in Linden, Arizona to John and Rhoda Henderson on 08-22-1924. Louise worked as an egg candler, sharecropper, ranch hand, at the local Dairy Freeze, as well as a hardware clerk later in life. Louise was involved in starting the first Baptist Church in Snowflake, and continued to support that church for years, eventually moving back to her home church in Burton. Louise enjoyed quilting, and hand embroidery, as well as reading and playing canasta with her family. Louise is preceded in death by her late husband and love of her life Irl Guffey, as well as several sisters and one brother. Louise is survived by her sister ArtieBell, her Sons Gerald, Dewey, Andy, and Ferron, daughters Inella, Arlie (Darlene) and Jean (Mauveen), Stepsons Richard and Walter Guffey, Stepson Paul Ward, 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the members of the Burton Church, as well as Brother Matt, Hospice nurses, aides, and social workers, many friends and especially family members Darlene and Gerald for their loving sacrifice and work to keep mom in her home where she wanted to spend her final days.
