Vera Pauline Rath

Vera Pauline Rath, of Pinetop, Navajo County, Arizona peacefully passed away at her home in Pinetop on June 28, 2013. She was 90. Pauline was born to her parents, the late, Elmer Roy and Verba (Reeves) Hassett on August 18, 1922 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Pauline married the love of her life, Stanley S. Rath, on September 4, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona and they enjoyed nearly 65 wonderful years together before her passing. Pauline and Stan had a home in Greer for nearly 27 years where they would enjoy taking many peaceful walks beside the stream and fishing the Greer Lakes. They had many wonderful close friends and neighbors there and cherish the time that they got to spend with them. She was the Transportation Director for the School for the Deaf and Blind in Tucson before her retirement at the age of 65 in 1988. An avid bridge player, Pauline participated in many bridge groups throughout the White Mountains and Tucson. She is survived by her husband, Stan Roth of Pinetop, Arizona; sons, Roy and wife Judy Rath of Tucson, Arizona and Andy and wife Peggy Rath of Lakeside, Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph and wife Colleen Hassett of Phoenix, Arizona as well as many extended family members and friends. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers the families ask that donations be made to Hospice Compassus, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 in Pauline's name.
