Robert Lee "Bob" Adams died late Monday night, May 13, 2013 at Bannon Springs in Vernon, Arizona, in Apache County following a lengthy illness. He was 75 years old. Bob was born on March 12, 1938 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan to his parents, the late Alfred Nichlas & Helen Ann (Gergel) Adams. He moved to Arizona many years ago and has lived in the White Mountains area for several years. As a young man, Bob worked for the Ford Motor Company. He started working for the Blue Ridge School District in 1999 and after years of faithful and dedicated service, Bob was able to retire as the Food Service Director. While working for the school district, Bob found a friend in Lori Lummus who, in spite of his weaknesses, remained his very good friend for years. She was able to care for him when nobody else was able to. Bob was a "loner" and needed his privacy. He spent years collecting fish and placing them in beautiful aquariums. They were always nice conversation pieces for anyone who was interested. Bob also had some great dogs that were always glad to see him come back home. They truly will miss Bob's constant care and compassion. Robert Lee "Bob" Adams is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank & Geri Adams of Farmington Hills, Michigan: 5 nieces and 3 nephews. He, too, is survived by his very good friends, Lori & Bud Lummus of Catalina, Arizona. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Adams. Private services will be held at a later date.
