William (Bill) H. Shea

February 20, 1930 — April 28, 2013

William H. (Bill) Shea, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away at his home on April 28, 2013. He was 83. Bill was born to the late William T. and Elizabeth (Vibbert) Shea in Mt. Kisco, Westchester County, New York on February 20, 1930. Bill graduated from Mt. Kisco High School in 1947 and also, that same year, he started as a sheet metal helper and became an apprentice in the sheet metal union at the age of 18. In 1951 he joined the Mt. Kisco Fire Department and in 1952, he became a Sheet Metal Journeyman. That same year he married Barbara Madsen and, together, they had 4 children. He built their home in Bedford Hills, New York in 1954 and in 1967 he moved his family to Tucson and bought a home there. In 1995, his wife Barbara died and, in 1996, he met his second wife and after being companions for eleven years they married in 2007. Bill had a wood shop in his garage where he spent many hours building childrens' furniture and other items from wood with his wife, Geri. He was a volunteer at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center Hospital for 9 years, working at the surgery check-in desk where he enjoyed greeting everyone that entered the hospital. He was a member of the Show Low Elks Lodge #2090, where he had many friends. Bill will be missed by all whom have had the privilege to know him. He is survived by his: wife, Geri Shea; 4 children: William M. (Peggy) Shea of Tucson, Arizona, Steven R. of Phoenix, Arizona, Nancy B. (Robert) Lorentsen of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Patti Shea (Bill) Drost of Phoenix, Arizona; 4 gradchildren: James (Marie) Lenz of Kentucky, Hayley and Katie Shea of Tucson, Arizona, Lora Lorentsen of Sierra Vista, Arizona; 2 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Miles Lenz of Kentucky; 5 step-children: David Bash, Dennis Bash, Andrea Taubenkrow of Oregon, Valerie Pratt and Ray Huffman of Show Low, Arizona. A special memorial gathering will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Friday, May 17, 2013 at Owens Livingston Mortuary ~ White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona. Memorial contributions in his name to: The White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1795, Lakeside, Arizona 85929; The Hospital Auxiliary, Attention: Hospital Auxiliary, 2200 Show Low Lake Road, Show Low, Arizona 85901 or to St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens, Show Low, Arizona 85901 have been suggested by his family.
