Sharon Joyce David

July 1, 1944 — April 6, 2013

Sharon Joyce David died Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at the Sierra Blanca Nursing Center in Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona following a lengthy illness. She was 68 years old. Sharon was born on July 1, 1944 in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa to her parents, the late Allen Fay & Virginia Kathryn (Kettler) Sikkema. Sharon graduated from Dan McCarty High School in Ft. Pierce, Florida in 1963. The following year, she received her nursing degree in Miami Beach, Florida. She began her nursing career in south Florida and later moved to Canada where she lived for several years. In 1983, Sharon moved to Arizona, making her home in Show Low. She worked for 15 years at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in its administration offices, still continuing her career in the health care industry. Sharon enjoyed cooking and was quite good at it, as many will attest to the fact. She also loved to dabble in local crafts and participated in several craft fairs over the years. Sharon loved animals of all kinds. Her loyal dog, Rocky, and her cat, Bessie are still wondering when she'll be home. They truly loved her unconditionally. Sharon is survived by her siblings: Sandra of Show Low, Arizona, Darwin (Denise) Sikkema of Pinson, Alabama, Robert (Diane) Sikkema of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Don (Robyn) Sikkema of Arvada, Colorado, Ken (Bebe) Sikkema of Charleston, South Carolina, Barbara Jean (Wes) Walker of Columbia, South Carolina and Kathy (Burke) Richardson of Columbia, South Carolina. Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life at 4600 W. Johnson Dr. in Show Low, Arizona Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM.
