John Henry "Bud" Williams, 79, was a loving husband of AnnMarie Williams of Show Low, Arizona for 26 years, and was a proud father of 3 from a previous marriage to Janice Olson-Galvaz: John T. Williams of Colorado, Teri Williams of Missouri, and Jeff Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; he also had 5 step children: Brenda Doro of Georgia, Cynthia Burnash (deceased), Laurie Agan of New York, Skip Burnash of New Hampshire and Kelly Soly of Florida. He, too, is survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. John Henry was born, the last of 17 children, on February 11, 1934 in Bennington, Oklahoma to his parents, the late Henry Clay and Carrie Alice (Davis) Williams. John Henry, a patriot and great American, nobly served our country with active service in the armed forces for a total of 20 years. After graduating from Snowflake High School in 1952, he went immediately to Phoenix and directly into the U.S. Air Force. He served gallantly in the USAF for over 20 years where his career encompassed three years in Alaska, serving our country in the Korean War, and was attached to the Special Forces, bravely serving as a weapons maintenance supervisor training and supporting soldiers on the front lines in Vietnam as a Technical Sergeant. John Henry was an open-minded and caring person which, throughout his career in Vietnam, included an honor of being inducted into a native tribe because he cared for them with supplies such as soap and food. His faith in the Lord and Romans 8:28 provided a great source of support for him while in Vietnam. After a direct commission to the ranks of Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army, he served another year in Vietnam and then transferred to Hanau, Germany, where he served for three years. John Henry held careers as a business man, a silversmith and entrepreneur. He was very passionate about his hobbies as a prospector, gold miner, and business mentor. He was a supportive, fun, loyal, and loving friend. A memorial service for John Henry was held at 12 Noon on March 19, 2013 at the Burton Baptist Church in Burton, Arizona. Memorial contributions to the Arizona Baptist Children's Services or to The Wounded Veterans Association have been suggested by his family.
