Mark Edwin Augusta died unexpectedly on March 7, 2013 at his home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona from complications of a lengthy illness. He was 58 years old. Mark was born in Stoneham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts on June 6, 1954 to his parents, the late Charles Edwin, Jr. and Esther Mae (Smith) Augusta. Mark moved to Arizona in 1963 when he was just a young boy. As a young man, Mark began a long and successful career as an auto mechanic. He worked for over 30 years for the University of Arizona and retired as its Mechanic Foreman. He moved to Show Low, Arizona about 7 years ago and worked for Wolfords Garage, where he continued with his mechanic skills. Mark loved living in the White Mountains of Arizona where he enjoyed horseback riding, hiking and fishing. He also enjoyed taking pictures. He had a special affinity for eagles. Mark had a nice collection of photographs that he took of nesting eagles as well as eagles in flight. He always enjoyed sharing them with his family and friends. In his younger years, Mark like to go snow skiing. In recent years, he enjoyed playing at several lakes in the state on his jet ski. He appreciated life in all of its forms and especially loved horses and dogs. For the past few years, he enjoyed caring for his horse, Miss Molly and, for the past 13 years, he loved caring for his dog, Doc. Mark is survived by his siblings: Judy Augusta of New Hampshire, Debra Augusta of Tucson, Arizona, Patricia Augusta of Georgia, Pamela Lavertue of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, Steven Lavertue of Worcester, Massachusetts, Jacqueline Lavertue of Hudson, Massachusetts and is also survived by his aunt, Lorraine Lavertue of Florida. Private family services will be held at a later date.
