Simeon Virian East

Simeon Virian East died at his home in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona on Thursday, February 28, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He was 60 years old. Simeon was born on June 27, 1952 in Maywood, California to his parents, the late Wallace Edward and Maggie May (Knighten) East. At the age of 11, Simeon moved to Arizona, where he has since lived, and worked as an expert carpenter in the construction industry. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and, after a short period of time, received his honorable discharge from the military in December of 1971 and also received his Medal of Good Conduct. Simeon was a quiet man by nature and had a few close friends throughout his life. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various church callings over the years. A graveside service for Simeon will begin 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery at the northwest corner of 4th South and 4th West in Snowflake, Arizona. Memorial contributions to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been suggested.
