Richard Jay Lupe Sr.

November 14, 1958 — February 3, 2013

Richard "Jay" Lupe Sr., of Cibecue, Navajo County, Arizona passed away following a lengthy illness in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona on February 3, 2013. Jay was born to the late Dewy Lupe Sr. and Rose (Nagle) Lupe in Cibecue, Arizona on November 14, 1958. He attended and graduated from the Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California before moving back to Cibecue. For many years he was employed as a gas attendant at the Cibecue Commercial Center. Jay loved to listen to music and before his illness he enjoyed playing the guitar. His favorite music to listen to was gospel and classical but he was known to listen to all kinds. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He loved to attend family outings and campouts where he will be truly missed. Jay also loved spending his free time at the casino where he met many friends. A humble person he was always helping people out whether it was babysitting or house sitting. Faith in God was a must for Jay and his family has comfort in knowing that he is with his father in Heaven. He is survived by his sons, Raymond Lupe, Richard Lupe Jr. and Cameron Gregg of Cibecue; daughters, Jocelyn Lupe and Marion Truax of Cibecue; grandchildren, Elicia Josay, Reneshia Rose Lupe, Marie Joy Lupe, Oriando Lupe, Jeremiah Josay and Adrian Josay; brothers, Mike Lupe Sr., Burnette Lupe, Max (Evelyn) Lupe Sr., Enoch (Colleen) Lupe Sr. of Cibecue and Dewy (Sara) Lupe Jr. of Whiteriver; sisters, Norma Lupe, Azlie (Gilbert) White, Joyce (Delbert Sr.) Wallen, Yolanda Lupe and Maxine (David) Bonito all of Cibecue; aunt, Irene (Alvin) Lupe all of Cibecue; ex-wife, Janice Lupe of Cibecue as well as many extended family members and friends. A two night wake will be held 10:00AM Friday February 8, 2013 at his home, 302 W. Henry St., Another World Cibecue, Arizona. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Sunday February 10, 2013 at the Cibecue Cottonwood Gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Lupe Family Plot in Cibecue.
