Lincoln Rogers Sr.

February 23, 1932 — January 6, 2013

Lincoln Rogers Sr., of Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2013 at the Tall Pines Nursing and Rehab Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 80. Lincoln was born to the late Rankan and Edna (Case) Rogers in San Carlos, Gila County, Arizona on February 23, 1932. A veteran of the United States Army, Lincoln served in Germany. He was Honorably Discharged and his family was very proud of his service. He was a jack of all trades especially as a mechanic, carpenter and electrician. An accomplished painter, many of his paintings are still hanging in the Hawley Lake and Sunrise stores. He was a believer who loved life. He especially loved his grandbabies and his grandchildren. Lincoln will be missed by all whom he knew but none more than by his own family. He is survived by his children, Sonya (Adam) Burnette, Dorcas (Sam) Paxson, Franklin (Pearlita) Rogers, Lincoln Rogers Jr., Darrell Rogers, and Darnell Rogers; brother, George Harris; grandchildren, Tonya Classay, Shermalyn Shorty, Kevin Shorty, Spriggs Shorty, Tasha Shorty, Destinee Rogers, Jairus Paxson, Maneka Paxson, Shanti Standing, Darnell Rogers, David Rogers, Darrell Rogers Jr., Elton Rogers and McDarrell Rogers. A one night wake will begin at 10:00AM Thursday January 10, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Dorcas, 611 N 5th Ave., Whiteriver, Arizona. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Friday January 11, 2013 at the San Carlos Independent Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow in the San Carlos Veterans Cemetery in San Carlos.
