Carole Brewer Miller, of Joseph City, Navajo County, Arizona passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on January 1, 2013 at the Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona. She was 80. Carole was born to the late Leslie Joseph and Callie (Bryant) Brewer in Pinedale, Navajo County, Arizona on August 29, 1932. Carole attended and graduated from Holbrook High School where she was active in the Drum and Bugle Corps, which is no longer in existence. On June 9, 1950 she married the love of her life, Jack Kent Miller, and they enjoyed nearly 63 wonderful years of marriage before her passing. Carole lived a life given in service to others. She often said her mother gave her the greatest gifts in life, to love everyone unconditionally and to never judge. She was truly a loving person and even cared for her mother, mother-in-law, son and many other family members in their final years of life. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in numerous callings throughout her life. She served the members of the Holbrook Stake as the Joseph City Ward softball coach and the Compassionate Service leader. She had the privilege to serve with her sister with the Beehives for many years, a calling they both enjoyed and often talked about. Carole also served in the Mesa Arizona Temple and the Snowflake Arizona Temple for nearly 12 years. Most of her life Carole worked as a homemaker in her home. When her children were older she went to work for the church as a custodian. She enjoyed her work but, her first love was being a mother and grandmother. Her many stories and unconditional love will live forever in the hearts and lives that she touched. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Miller of Joseph City, Arizona; children, Peggy (David) Palmer of Overton, Nevada, Steve (Beth) Miller of Holbrook, Arizona, Brenda (Kevin) Fish of Joseph City, Arizona, Eric (Mary) Miller of Mesa, Arizona, Shirley (Johnny) Penrod of Gilbert, Arizona, Brad (Alliene) Miller of Benson, Arizona, Jeri (Jim) Edwards of Joseph City, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Kellie (Dan) Bowman of Mesa, Arizona; 42 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlotte (Loral) Petersen, Clara (Wendell) Shelley, Bobby (Bev) Basham and Coleman (M.J.) Brewer. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne; brother, Leslie Jr.; granddaughter, Dani Fox and great-grandchildren, Zachary Fox and Tyler Fish. A visitation will be held from 7:00-8:00PM Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary, 409 N 1st Ave., Holbrook, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Joseph City Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8181 Westover Ave., Joseph City, Arizona with an additional visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Joseph City Cemetery in Joseph City.
