Ernestine Stevenson

August 17, 1941 — December 31, 2012

"Cancer claimed my dear wife, Ernestine "Tina" Stevenson, on Monday, December 31, 2012 at home in Holbrook, Navajo County, Arizona." She was 71 years old. Tina was born on August 17, 1941 in Henry County, Alabama to her parents, Ernest and Carolyn Brady. Tina is survived by her husband, Roy Stevenson of Holbrook, Arizona; parents, Ernest & Carolyn Brady (who are 95 and 90 years old, respectively) of Cedar Springs, Georgia; 4 sisters: Betty Brady, Pat Traugh, both of Cedar Springs, Georgia, Martha (Arthur) Hackett of Blakely, Georgia and Kay (Steve) Owns of Dothan, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Brady. After graduating from Bay County High School in Panama City, Florida, Tina worked at the Credit Bureau and Corps of Engineers in Panama City, Florida. Tina did secretarial work for Westinghouse in New Jersey and for an oil company in Mobile, Alabama. She also worked as a receptionist, accountant and bookkeeper for Jackson Tubing in Cedar Springs, Georgia. Later, Tina worked as a secretary and receptionist at Early County High School in Blakely, Georgia. While working there she married Roy Stevenson on April 27, 1974 in Killeen, Texas. This past April, the couple celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary together. Tina was well known in the community as she has resided in Holbrook for the past 32 years. She has been very active in the Bible Education work of Jehovah's Witnesses. A few years ago when attending a special Bible School, the instructor introduced Tina as "a person who never meets a stranger." She had a special ability for remembering peoples' names. Many people in the community will miss her friendly and informative visits. Everyone is invited to attend a special memorial service for Tina, 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 300 Hermosa Drive in Holbrook, Arizona. To further the world wide work of Bible education, memorial contributions to The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Jehovah's Witnesses, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483 have been suggested by Tina's family.
