Michael Jay Goodwin, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 23, 2012 in Show Low. He was 52. Michael was born to Jessie and Margaret (Marshall) Goodwin on January 29, 1960 in Lehi, Utah County, Utah. An avid sportsman Michael loved to hunt and shoot. An amazing marksman he won numerous trophies for trap shooting and was known for his abilities for trick shooting. He prided himself on having a shooting average of 95 out of 100 skeet with a 4-10 and breaking over 1800 trap targets in a row. He loved to go quail hunting with his buddies and being around a camp fire telling stories. Being outdoors was truly where he found the most peace and where he spent most of his time. He loved the White Mountains and the tranquility that the area provides. A very intelligent man he had a hand in designing many different golf courses for half his life. He was the superintendent over the Torreon Golf Course construction and was instrumental in the design of their driving range. Michael is survived by his wife, Karen Goodwin of Show Low, Arizona and her children, Shylia, Kyla and Damian Adams also of Show Low; son, Kevin Michael (Emily) Goodwin of Mona, Utah; daughter, Amber Dawn (Richard) Schroeder of Bluffdale, Utah; grandchildren, Jeffery James, Bailey Louise and Hannah Audrie Goodwin of Mona, Utah, Laycee Dawn and Wyatt James Thomas of Bluffdale, Utah and Kaysen Michael Goodwin also of Bluffdale; mother, Marge Goodwin of Lehi, Utah; 2 sisters, Debbie Goodwin and Kelli Proctor of Utah as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Lavar Goodwin. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary ~ White Mountain Chapel, 320 N 9th St., Show Low, Arizona. Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 to 3:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Lehi Utah Jordan River Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel 2161 W. Grays Drive, Lehi, Utah 84043.
