Joyce Arvilla Kear

January 27, 1935 — November 3, 2012

Joyce Arvilla Kear, of Pinetop, Navajo County, Arizona passed away on November 3, 2012 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. She was 77. Joyce was born, the oldest daughter of 11 children, to the late Levi and Arvilla (McNeil) Hancock on January 27, 1935 in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. Joyce loved her family and was always helping her mom with her younger brothers and sisters. She enjoyed being around her big family and found comfort in being a "second mom" to them. In 1961 Joyce married the love her life, Mark Russell Kear, and they enjoyed many, many wonderful years together before his passing. She loved to quilt and crochet and was always making something for her family. An avid reader she was always seen with a good book. She was an excellent cook and provided many wonderful meals to her family and friends. Being around her children and grandchildren was a great joy to her and she was always playing games with them at family gatherings, especially the game of Skip-Bo which was her favorite. She had beautiful, sparkling blue eyes and a great big smile that surely made her live up to the meaning of her name, "Full of Joy." A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia McCloud; son, James Crawford Kear; grandchildren, Dawn McCloud, Gioia McCloud, Gena Neuroth, Trevor Kear, Kristan Barrington, Marcia Kear, Charity Kear, Kourtnie Kear, Rachael Vito, Logan Kear, Jason Kear, Joey Kear and Trenton Kear; 7 great-great grandchildren with 2 on the way as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark and 2 sons, Levi Mark and Raymond Starr Kear. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM on Saturday November 10, 2012 at the Buck Springs Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4075 Buck Springs Road, Pinetop, Arizona with a viewing beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, Arizona.
