Rosaleen Marie Quintero died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Whiteriver Hospital in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona at the age of 58. She was born on September 23, 1954 in Whiteriver to the late Gus, Sr. and Violet (Kane) Quintero and has lived her entire life in the White Mountains. Rosaleen graduated from Alchesay High School in 1973. Throughout her life, she gave of herself in service to others. She was a true people person and especially loved being around children. She enjoyed them so much that she made a lifetime commitment to be a trusted and faithful babysitter to many. Rosaleen enjoyed reading a good book and frequently could be found reading to "her" special kids. She babysat for the IHS pharmacy staff employees of all nationalities. She even had the privilege to babysit O.J. Mayo, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks. In her younger years, Rosaleen developed a great passion for riding horses. She started riding at a very young age and enjoyed riding for many years after that. In her recent years, she really missed the quiet and peaceful gait of her equine friends. Also, while in her youth, Rosaleen was a gifted softball player and excellent basketball player. As she grew older she became a diehard fan of the L.A. Lakers. Her favorite player of all time was Magic Johnson and a close second was Alonso Morning. Rosaleen was also a huge fan of Georgetown University basketball. She also enjoyed watching a good tennis match and was a great fan of Andre Agassi and had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually meet him! That was a great day in the life of Rosaleen. Rosaleen received a great deal of pleasure by watching her soap operas, too. Her all-time favorite soap was The Young & The Restless and made sure she was ALWAYS home between 11:00 A.M. and 12 Noon when it aired on television. She had the luxury of being able to revolve her life around her soaps and always considered her self lucky to be able to do so. Whenever she was able, Rosaleen loved to escape from her responsibilites and cruise on over to Hawley Lake. To her, it was the best place ever and she truly felt closer to her Maker in the pristine beauty of His creation. She was a true family woman and found that some of her greatest joys in life came simply by being in their presence. She considered it a privilege to babysit for her own nieces' and nephews' children. Rosaleen was a huge ASU fan and has always been proud of her family and the fact that some of them attended Arizona State University to obtain their higher education. Rosaleen was quick to let others know that her niece and nephew graduated from A.S.U. They made her so proud to be their aunt. Rosaleen is survived by 4 sisters: Kathy Antonio, Ronda Dixon, Bernaleen Titla, Joleen Antonio; 2 brothers: Timo Quintero, Patrick Quintero; 16 nieces and nephews; 28 grandkids, 3 great-grandkids and 2 maternal aunts.
