Erwin Mahonri Prestwich was born in Delta, Utah on October 26, 1927, the seventh of twelve children. He passed away October 2, 2012 at his home in Snowflake. Erwin married Connie LaRue Hansen in the Manti Temple on March 31, 1951. They are the proud parents of eleven children: Karen (Alan) Cheney, Sandra (Richard) Rogers, Stephen (Sue) Prestwich, Garth(Bonnie) Prestwich, Karl (Terri) Prestwich, Gregory (Letha) Prestwich, Cathleen (Kurt) Westover, Eugene (Wyndie) Prestwich, David (Risako) Prestwich, Daniel (Danelle) Prestwich, Jared (Paula) Prestwich. Their posterity includes sixty grandchildren and forty three great grandchildren. After schooling in Delta he served in the Spanish American Mission. Following his mission and marriage he entered Brigham Young University, graduating in 1955. Some remarkable circumstances led him to accept a position at Snowflake High School, teaching Spanish & English. Later he transferred to Snowflake Intermediate where he taught fourth grade. As a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he served in various capacities. He & his wife Connie fulfilled three missions: Ecuador, Quito; Chile, Santiago; and Mexico, Mexico City Temple. His membership in the church and his large family have always been the focal points of his life. In addition: sharing his love of the Spanish language, any kind of building, gardening and reading have made his life full & rewarding. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 175 West 9th South. A viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel 84 East 19th South, Snowflake, Arizona and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Concluding Services and Interment will be held at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona.
