Theodore Seth Turley died Thursday morning, September 20, 2012 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona from causes incident to his age. He was 83 years old. "Ted", as he was affectionately known, was born on November 19, 1928 in Smithfield, Cache County, Utah to his parents, the late Harvey Isaac and Melba Oreta (Thornley) Turley. As a young man, Ted served his country honorably as an MP (Military Police) in the U.S. Army at the Panama Canal. A few years following his honorable discharge, Ted moved to Arizona. On August 9, 1958 Ted married the love of his life, Jewel G. nee Harrison in Gallup, New Mexico. Their marriage was later solemnized on December 13, 1973 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They most recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary together. He worked for many years at the Paper Mill and retired after 32 years of faithful service. Theodore Seth Turley is survived by: his wife, Jewel Turley of Snowflake, Arizona; 5 children: William R. (Alea) Turley of Snowflake, Dale E. (Pamela) Turley of Snowflake, Arizona, Tamra J. (James) Nuttall of West Jordan, Utah, Anthony Isaac (Dena) Turley of Gardnerville, Nevada, Theodore S. Turley of Snowflake, Arizona; 1 brother, Don Turley of Mesa, Arizona; 1 sister, Venda Wilkins of Magalia, California; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Along with his parents, Ted was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Michelle "Cricket" Turley in 1992; 1 great-granddaughter, Alexis Turley and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Patsy Cochran. A brief graveside service with military honors will begin 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery (the corner of 4th South and 4th West) in Snowflake, Arizona. Then later, that afternoon, a special memorial service will begin 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 48 N. Main Street in Snowflake, Arizona. Ted's family is so appreciative of all of the kindnesses extended to them during this difficult season and are especially grateful for the prayers offered up in their behalf.
