Kirk Patrick Cody, better known as "Dino" to his family, of Indian Wells, Navajo County, Arizona unexpectedly passed away on September 17, 2012 in Winslow, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 42. Dino was born to Jesse Cody and Bernice Spencer in Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona on September 26, 1969. At a young age Dino moved to West Valley Utah with his foster parents, John and Laura Groll. While in Utah he attended school in West Valley and graduated from West Valley High School. Following school Dino started his career as a Firefighter, a job he truly loved. Always delightful he would greet you with a familiar "Hey". He was a loving family man who valued kinship and the time he spent with his friends and family. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and was very proud of his accomplishment. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dino will be missed by all. He is survived by his mother, Bernice Spencer of Indian Wells, Arizona; sister, Bernadine Spencer of Indian Wells; brothers, Christopher (Mary Ann James) Cody, Bruce Spencer Jr., and Beau Spencer all of Indian Wells; grandmother, Lillie Taylor of Indian Wells; aunts, Anita (Gary) Gene of Phoenix, Arizona, Rosie (Leonard Gene) Taylor and Diane (Ronald) Beall of Indian Wells; uncles, Leonard Taylor and Robert (Christine) Taylor of Indian Wells and Terry Taylor of Phoenix; best friend, Danny Martinsen of Salt Lake, Utah; foster parents, John and Laura Groll of West Valley, Utah as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Cody; maternal grandfather, Carl Taylor; paternal grandfather, Nephi Cody and an uncle, Herbert Taylor. Funeral services will be held 10:00AM/MST Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Holbrook Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1127 Helen Ave, Holbrook, Arizona with a visitation one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
