Michael "Mike" Lynn Billings, of Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona passed away suddenly on September 13, 2012 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 63. Mike was born to the late Richard and Delma (Smith) Billings on May 25, 1949 in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri. Mike had a love of wood working and was very talented and extremely detailed. He enjoyed spending time working with his hands and loved to see the finished product. An avid outdoorsman he was always at peace being in the woods and with nature. He was an avid race car fan and even built many of his own race cars. A motorcycle enthusiast he had a dream of someday owning another Harley. Mike also loved old trucks and classic cars and attended as many classic car shows as possible. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new sights; a new trip was always on his mind. Mike worked for Motorola for many years and was the youngest Forman while working there. Following his work at Motorola, he entered the construction trade and enjoyed being a building inspector and giving estimates. Seeing a job from beginning to finish was always a great joy to him. Mike received special training and education in many different aspects of the construction industry including LP training in Wood-E Design, CAD-Electro Mechanical Design, TJ Beam Program and Roseboro Beam Design. Mike married the love of his life, Linda, in Show Low, Arizona in 1989 and in December of 1990 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A loving family man he will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Linda Billings of Snowflake, Arizona; children, Dana (Mark) Santia of Montague, New Jersey, Jo (Eddie) Halford of Queen Creek, Arizona, Tracy Solomon of Taylor, Arizona, Donald (Mary) Carroll of Payson, Arizona and Walter (Tawny) Long of Show Low, Arizona; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Todd Billings in October of 1989 as well as a brother, Rick Billings. Memorial services will be held 10:00AM Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9th S. 2nd W., Snowflake, Arizona. Inurnment will follow in the Show Low Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 742030, Los Angeles, California 90074-2030 in Mike's name.
