Stephanie (Kimmy) Downing, 49, was called to Heaven suddenly on September 9, 2012. (It was her beloved grandmother's birthday). Kimmy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Stephanie Kim was born March 4, 1963, and was dearly loved by her parents Gary R. Downing (Lorna Downing) of Show Low and Carrol Lewis Downing also of Show Low. Kimmy was the first born of four children and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona during her childhood and teen years. In 1979 she moved to Show Low with her parents. She was married and started her family shortly after. She currently resided in Star Valley, Arizona. She had many challenges in her life, but she had a great zest for living all the way to the finish line. Our Kimmy was an original; a real character and the life of the party. She kept everyone around her in stitches with her whit and humor. Kimmy loved the outdoors and being with nature. She loved rock hounding, fishing, camping and working in her yard. Her cats were her passion she cared for them with great love and tenderness. Music was another passion. She loved singing along with her CD's she had a song in her heart to the end. She was unpredictable and wonderfully passionate about things in life most important to her. She was always willing to help those less fortunate. Kimmy was never afraid to disagree or speak her mind about her opinions. She loved the Lord and was anxious to be with him. She was greeted in Heaven by her beloved maternal great-grandparents; Monroe Travis Jenkins and Desha Jenkins; maternal grandparents; Ralph Lewis and Eva Lewis Smith; paternal grandparents; Ralph Downing and Eva Downing. Ralph Lewis Jr. and his son, Ricky Lewis. She leaves behind her two adored sons, Abriam Tyler Downing of Tennessee, Joshua Samuel Begay of Concho. She was a grandmother of five: Sawyer Jake Hansen, Jayden Downing, Trevor Gilles, Thommous Begay and Aurrianna Begay; brother, Russ Downing (Judy St. John-Downing) of Show Low; sisters, Danelle Downing-Cromwell of Payson, Arizona, Cali Downing-Ford (Travis Ford) also of Show Low, Arizona; 4 nephews and 2 nieces and lastly, her two cats; Turbo and Sissy. The family wishes to thank all her family and friends for the support and a special gratitude to Rim Guidance for their loving care and continued support to Stephanie.
