Leslie Craig Fjelstul

Leslie Craig Fjelstul died peacefully at his home in Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona when his kidneys failed in their function. He was 63 years old. Les was born on August 31, 1948 in Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa to the late Vernon Leslie and Frances Arline (Halverson) Fjelstul. As a young man, Les served during the Vietnam War in The United State Army. When he was honorably discharged from the Army he had achieved the rank of Sergeant and was the recipient of several medals including: The National Defense Service Medal; The Vietnam Service Medal; The Vietnam Campaign Medal; The Army Commendation Medal and The Good Conduct Medal. In the early 1980's Les moved to Arizona and worked as a bounty hunter and bail bondsman. He was known as one of the best in the state and his family was so proud of the hard work he did to provide for them. Many referred to him as a "True Gentleman" who was respected and loved by all who knew him. Les is survived by: his wife, Louise Hughes of Lakeside, Arizona; 3 children: Michele Sandoval of Show Low, Arizona, Chris Moxcey of Texas, Scott (Brandi) Fjelstul of Hopkinton, Iowa,; 6 grandchildren: Christina, Shelby, Richard, Kayla, Andrea, Danica; 2 sisters: Becky Sundermier of Mason City, Iowa, Kathy Craig of Mesa, Arizona; 2 brothers: Dave Fjelstul of Glendale, Arizona and Jeff Fjelstul of Pawnee, Illinois. Along with his parents, Les was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Fjelstul. Private family services will be held but, wish to "Thank" everyone for all of the sympathies they have received from their community of friends and are especially grateful for the prayers offered up on their behalf.
