Blossom Haozous Hastings

August 18, 1925 — August 17, 2012

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand." - John 10:27-28 Blossom Haozous Hastings, the Martriarch of the Hastings Family has answered her call to be with her Heavenly Father and has been reunited with her husband, Cain. Blossom was born on August 18, 1925 in Mesa, Arizona. She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels on August 17, 2012 in Show Low, Arizona. She had a life filled with working to better the lives of others - whether those jobs were at East Fork Nursery; the Bureau of Indian Affairs; The Whiteriver Unified School District; The Department of Economic Security, or serve as the president of the Save the Children Federation of Canyon Day. Blossom had many talents and skills. She enjoyed working with her hands. She was an experienced seamstress, bead worker, and a wonderful cook. Above all, Blossom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She walks with Jesus and her loved ones who await: 9 children; 2 foster children; 45 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 3 traditional God-daughters; 1 brother and 1 sister. She is preceded in death by her: her parents; 1 daughter; 1 granddaughter; 2 brothers; 2 sisters and her loving husband of fifty plus years. Keeping with her family's San Carlos Tradition, her body will be brought back to her residence in Canyon Day on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 7:00 A.M. The funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M., that same afternoon at the Canyon Day Lutheran Church where Pastor Parsons will officiate. Immediately following the funeral service, Blossom's body will be laid to rest at the family plot in Canyon Day. In celebration of her life, all Tribal dignitaries, Speakers and Gospel Singers are welcome. Gramma Blossom, though she walks with Jesus, she will be dearly missed.
