Phoebe F. Cooley, of Canyon Day, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by her loving family, August 15, 2012 in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. She was 75. Phoebe was born June 4, 1937 to the late Percy and Madeline (Palmer) Fall in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona. Phoebe was a very humble and loving person. She would help anyone and enjoyed the many friendships she made. She was loved by all, especially her grandchildren. Of her many hobbies, Phoebe enjoyed sewing and cooking and was well known for her delicious pumpkin pies. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many states throughout the United States. She worked as a cook for the East Fork Mission School in East Fork for many years before going to work for the Whiteriver Indian Health Services Hospital. She worked in the x-ray department for 3 years before transferring to medical records where she stayed for nearly 26 years. She was also in an enhanced fitness program which she enjoyed going to each day. She was a woman of prayer always praying early in the morning for all her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Vera "Angel" Cooley of Ft. Apache, Arizona; adopted children, Myron (Dorothy) Moody of Globe, Arizona and Mary Sue Moody of East Fork, Arizona; goddaughters, Karen Quintero of Ft. Apache and Tanya Gordon of Whiteriver; a brother, Leonard (Hattie) Fall of Diamond Creek, Arizona; 3 sisters, Katherine Grant of Ft. Apache Junction, Lenora (Baxter) Gordon of North Fork, Cora Lee (Casper) Fall of Whiteriver as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Cooley; her parents; a sister, Beta Moody and an aunt, Naomi Harrina. A one night wake will begin at 10:00AM Friday August 24, 2012 at her residence, 305 W. Canyon Day Road, Canyon Day, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday August 25, 2012 at the East Fork Lutheran Church in East Fork. Interment will follow in the Canyon Day Cemetery.
