Betty Lou Clark

February 26, 1928 — August 2, 2012

Betty Lou Clark died peacefully at her home in Show Low, Arizona, August 2, 2012. At 84 years old Lou had a recent illness but was able to come home from the hospital with family care and help from Hospice. Born February 26, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lou lived most of her life in Bishop, California from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Moving to Bishop in the Owens Valley in 1956, she raised 4 children, Gayla, Candace, Ralph and Lee. Her mother Juanita and grandmother MaHaley soon joined her in the move to California from Oklahoma. Living throughout the Owens Valley from Round Valley to Big Pine she made friends with everyone she met and where ever she lived. Lou worked at the US Forest Service Office in Bishop where everyone was always greeted by Lou's sweet smile. She lived life to the brim. Lou then moved to Arizona in 2006 to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law Candace and Kelly Williams. Betty Lou loved photos of her family and framing and displaying hundreds of photos throughout her home. She has an extensive cookbook collection and in her later years read all her cookbooks through and through. She continued to collect cookbooks, which includes many from the local churches and organizations from the Owens Valley. She is survived by her children: Gayla (Kenny) Hussong, Candace (Kelly) William, Ralph and Leland Clark; 8 grandchildren, Gabe Vaughn, Alyshia Martin, Haley Skerrett, Mathew Clark, Melissa Clark, Michelle Clark and step-grandchildren Derek and Casey Williams; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. God grand me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference. By Reinhold Niebuhr Memorial service for Lou will be held in California later this fall. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty Lou's name to the Hospice Compassus P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 We Love and miss you MOM!!
