Rodney Richard Valade, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on July 29, 2012 at his home in Show Low. He was 84. Rodney was born to the late Henry George and Irene (Lecours) Valade on November 8, 1927 in North Attleboro, Bristol County, Massachusetts. Rodney enlisted in the United States Navy in Providence Rhode Island on September 27, 1945. While serving his country Rodney had the opportunity to serve on the USS Princeton and the USS Jupiter where he earned the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. Rodney received an honorable discharge for his time in the service as a Seaman Apprentice on September 28, 1948 in San Diego California. He was very proud of his service and proud to be an American. Rodney had a passion for bowling and enjoyed playing in many leagues throughout the years and made many friends while doing so. He loved the outdoors and living in the beautiful White Mountains. Rodney's greatest accomplishment came in 2005 when he was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Valade of Show Low, Arizona; children, Sue Valenzuela, Terry Valade, Laura Baudoin, Shawn Valade, Everette Garr, Frank Garr, Randy Garr, John Garr, Stephanie Chubb, Sarah Maldonado and Danny Garr; siblings, Maurice Valade, Rita Fragnoli, Donald Rene' Valade and Claudette Root as well as numerous grand children and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday August 4, 2012 at the Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane, in Lakeside, Arizona.
