Michael John Hunsaker

November 14, 1990 — July 23, 2012

Michael John Hunsaker, of Taylor, Navajo County, Arizona passed away following a tragic accident just North of Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona on July 23, 2012. He was 21. Michael was born to Rick and Annette (Neff) Hunsaker on November 14, 1990 in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. An avid fisherman he loved the outdoors. He was known to spend most of his time in the woods on either a great lake or stream. He loved to hunt and shoot and was known for being able to shoot a bird while flying but cursed by the ever dreadful "buck fever" that plagues so many hunters. Just being outdoors gave him a sense of peace so many try to find. A very outgoing people person, Michael had no fear and loved to live his life on the edge. He always hit the ground running and didn't allow other people's opinions to slow him down. Michael made friends very easy and had a firm and confident handshake. Never was a stranger met and you always knew where you stood with him. Michael would do anything for anyone and would give you the shirt off his back. He had a love of family and was great with kids, especially his two nieces, Jordyn and Kelsi. He enjoyed spending time with his father building hotrods and found great joy in motorcycles. He especially loved spending time with his dog, Buddy and rarely was there a time the two weren't together. He was very fond of his cowboy boots, a love that he had since the day he was born. An excellent wrestler in High School he went to State twice and found much joy in the sport. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and earned the "Arrow of Life" award, an award only few have the honor of receiving. He was a certified welder through the NAVIT program at NPC and was known as a hard worker. Two of Michael's favorite sayings were: "Life's too short to not be happy!", and "Cheer Up!" Michael is survived by his parents, Rick and Annette Hunsaker of Taylor, Arizona; sisters, Kandi Archunde, Larissa Hunsaker and Jessica Hunsaker all of Taylor; nieces, Jordyn Hunsaker and Kelsi Archunde both of Taylor; good friend and brother-in-law, JR. "Art" Archunde of Taylor; grandparents, Harmon and Nadene Neff of Taylor, Don and Jeannie Hunsaker of Show Low, Arizona; cousins, Garrett and JC Neff of Taylor, Arizona; friends, Shawn Walker, Carl Lightfoot and Nate Hardy as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Cherri Beaumont; great-grandma, Emma Hunsaker and great-grandparents, Ivan and Ila Farnsworth.
