Kenneth Sherman Lofthouse born on May 9, 1952 to Wayne Parks and Dorothy Lee Oxley in Murray, Utah passed away on July 7, 2012 in Snowflake, Arizona. He was 60. Kenneth lived in Kearns, Utah until he was 7 years old and then he and his family moved to Mesa, Arizona. After moving to Mesa they moved to Peoria where he graduated from Cortez High School. At the age of 24 in March of 1976 he joined the Navy. He went to San Diego, California and also to NTC Great Lakes, Illinois. He then proceeded to the USS Ranger, the USS Cochran and then taught in Mare Island, California. Following his time there he went to the USS Ramsey, the USS Waddel, Comdesron 33 San Diego, FCTC PAC San Diego, the USS Steteham, and to NAS Pensacola, Florida. After he retired he went to DeVry for his B.A. in computers. When moving to the White Mountains he loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Kenneth also worked for the American Red Cross and volunteered in the community for the Meals on Wheels. He also dedicated his time to the American Legion in Show Low. He loved his country and loved his children and grandchildren. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he was an Elder and served in various callings. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Susan (Bateman) Lofthouse of Snowflake, Arizona; children, Richard Mark Kent (Pam) of Phoenix, Arizona, Jodi Lynne Wells (Trilby) of Avondale, Arizona, Nicholas Glen Kent (Cheryl) of Phoenix, Arizona, Misty Ann Mattox (Chris) of Phoenix, Alisha Sue Buck (Jason) of Show Low, Arizona; grandchildren, Audryanna, Monica, Malarie, Jacob, Brandon, William and Collyn; mother, Dorothy Lee Lofthouse; brother, William Ray Lofthouse; sisters, Linda Mayberry, Bonnie Tracey and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, LaRay Hall Lofthouse and a sister, Anne Madison. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday July 12, 2012 at Owens Livingston Mortuary Heritage Chapel in Snowflake and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Friday July 13, 2012 at the Snowflake Pioneer Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be at 10:00AM Monday July 16, 2012 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
