Alice M. Gallegos died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona at the age of 72. A native Arizonan, she was born on June 14, 1940 in Holbrook, Navajo County, to the late Jesus L. "Joe" and Augustina "Aggie" (Tafoya) Montano. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a woman who loved to spend time at the casino and, ever the lady, she enjoyed spending time at the beauty shop. Alice was an avid bowler and received a great thrill as she knocked bowling pin after bowling pin over at the local bowling alley. Alice was also a very good dancer and some of her most precious times were spent dancing with her husband. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Alice is survived by: her husband: Stanley M. Gallegos of Holbrook, Arizona; 4 children: Steven (Christopher), Troy, Kiberley (Tami), Sharlene (John) Guttery; a sister, Mary Gabaldon; 5 grandchildren: Noreen, Hailey, Willow, Griffin, Erica; 1 great-granddaughter, Ivy all of Holbrook, Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents Joe and Aggie, Alice was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Johnny Montano and Armando Montano. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona in Holbrook with the viewing and Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow the Mass at the Holbrook Cemetery.
