Tom was granted his cowboy spurs on June 26, 2012. His final days were spent surrounded by famiy and friends. Tom was brought into the world on July 15, 1936 and was specially gifted to Delbert Richard Haddox and Ruby Lee Haddox in El Paso, Texas and spent many years in Fallon, NV. He worked as an Operating Engineer in the Coachella Valley for over 35 years and made numerous brothers and sisters through his Local 12 Chapter. On September 3, 1955, Tom married the love of his life, his wonderful wife, Patricia Lee Haddox. Tom's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile, hard hand shake and great sense of humor brought so much joy to everyone. Although he had a long battle with lung cancer, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Lee Haddox of Joseph City, AZ; his son Bobby (Vickie) Haddox of Indio, CA; his three daughters, Penny Jo (Don) Hubbard of La Quinta, CA, Dowanne Valdez of La Quinta, CA, and Mary (Scott) Carter of Indio, CA; his brother Ronald Martin Haddox of Joseph City, AZ; his sister, Sandra Yvonne Mercer of Joseph City, AZ; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held in the White Mountains in the spring of 2013. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the memory of Tom Haddox to the Taylor House, 1200 N. Beaver Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
