Richard Alan Doyle, age 74, passed away on May 16, 2012 after a long illness. He died reconciled to the Lord and trusting in the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. A longtime resident of Alpine, he lived briefly in Springerville, before spending the last months of his life at Tall Pines Care and Rehabilitation in Show Low. He was born on March 27, 1938, in Queens, New York. He received a bachelor's degree at Miami university of Ohio, and was formerly a corpsman in the Naval Reserve. After marrying and having children in Ohio, he moved with his family to Homer, Alaska. He lived in Alaska for many years before moving to Fountain Hills, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Doyle and Mary Thyroff Doyle, of Fountain Hills, and his brother, Roger Doyle, of Tempe. He is survived by three children, Jeffery Doyle, of Anchorage, Alaska; Melanie Doyle Luhn, of Staunton, Virginia and Jody Doyle, of Soldotna, Alaska; and his six grandchildren. His family is especially thankful for the kindness and help of many people over the years, in particular for Frank and Phyllis Barnes, of Alpine, and Franz Tomlinson, also of Alpine for Gracie Becker of Springerville; for Lance Hering, M.D., and friend, of Scottsdale; for Butch Chambers and others at Via Escudilla Apartments in Springerville, and for the dedicated and caring nurses and aides at Tall Pines in Show Low. We are particularly grateful for the ministry and visits of Reverend Father Joachim Blonski of Saint Rita's Catholic Church in Show Low, which gave great comfort to Richard and brought peace to him in the last months of his life. A private memorial service will be held in Anchorage, Alaska. Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel of Show Low handled the arrangements.
