Genevie Shipley, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at her home in Show Low. She was 80. Genevie was born to the late Earl and Katie (Petersen) Stock on October 24, 1931 in McNary, Apache County, Arizona. She attended grade school in Show Low before attending and graduating from Snowflake High School. Genevie was the 1949 Rodeo Queen in Show Low and enjoyed spending time at the rodeos. Many will remember her as one of the greatest babysitters as she took care of so many children in Show Low. She is survived by her children, Maxine White, Russell (Janice) Shipley, Mary (Jack Lilly) Shipley and Buddy (Bonnie) Shipley; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Hobart, Misty (Joey) Hobart, Harley (Connie) Hobart, Amber Shipley, Daylan Shipley; 7 great-grandchildren, Makayla, Amara, Faith, Tommy, Chaz, Haley, Bentley; 7 brothers; 1 sister as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Braswell; grandson, Charlie Braswell and great-granddaughter, Alexis. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Friday May 4, 2012 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 N. 11th St., Show Low, Arizona.
