Lela Vinnie Goldman was surrounded by her loving family when the angels came for her on Friday, April 6, 2012. She was 94 years old. Lela was born on November 24, 1917 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona to a Tempe pioneer family, the late Frank and Lura (Wickliffe) Hanna. She married Herman A. Goldman in 1937 in Tempe, Arizona where they resided until 1988. She and Herman then moved to Payson, where she lived until her death. Lela was a homemaker who loved to cook and crochet for her family and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. In earlier years, she and Herman enjoyed their cabin in Oak Creek Canyon and later enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in their motorhome. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and riding motorcycles. She will be dearly missed by her 2 children: William E. "Bill" (Tiffany "Tiffy") Goldman of Payson, Arizona and Marjorie "Marj" (Robert "Bob") Fillman of Lakeside, Arizona; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Goldman in 1998; her brother, Lyle Hanna and her sister, Mildred Carter. A special memorial service celebrating her life will begin 11:30 A.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the William Goldman Family Home, 1009 N. Hillcrest Drive in Payson, Arizona.
