Cleve J. Holyoak, age 95, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona. He was born December 7, 1916 in Clay Springs, Arizona to Joseph Wilkine Holyoak and Jennie McFern McCleve Holyoak. Cleve married his sweetheart Erma Tanner Holyoak on March 14, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2004. Cleve served in the U.S. Army during WWII in North Africa. He was a body guard to Dwight D. Eisenhower. He loaded more logs on the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest than anyone else. Cleve loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and he was well known for his gardening skills. He is survived by 3 children: Dennie K. (Bonnie) Holyoak of Sierra Vista, Arizona, J. Farrel (Sharon) Holyoak of Overgaard, Arizona and Kerry D. (Denise) Holyoak of Heber, Arizona; 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Vonda Hancock of Oregon. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Heber Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a viewing beginning at 9:00 A.M. prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Heber Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
