Gus "Pint" Quintero, Jr., of Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona passed away on February 27, 2012 at the Indian Health Services in Whiteriver. He was 51. Pint was born to the late Gus Sr. and Violet (Kane) Quintero in Whiteriver on November 1, 1960. He attended school at Whiteriver Elementary and graduated from Alchesay High School. He also attended the Central Arizona College in Coolidge, Arizona. Pint worked for the Tribal Forestry as a Forestry Technician as well as in timber sales, pre-sales and GPS. He loved to hang out with his numerous friends, taking photos, fishing, taking joy rides and going to a wiener roast. He played football, basketball and baseball in high school and excelled in all 3 sports. He played basketball with the team B.L.O and the Sand Devils. He also played Co-ed softball with the Sand Vikes and baseball with the Chiefs. Pint is survived by his sons, Lydell "Spanish/Clyde" Quintero, Leon "Gator" Tommie; daughters, Cheynell "CC" Quintero, Jalen "J" Quintero; grandson, D'Anton "HP" Mull; godson, Kyle Goklish; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 6 nephews; 7 nieces; 26 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 maternal aunts; 2 paternal aunts and 1 paternal uncle. He belonged to the Roadrunner Clan and born into the Eagle Clan. He was preceded in death by parents. A two night wake will begin at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at his residence in North Fork. The family asks that you wear Dallas Cowboys or Arizona State attire. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:30PM both nights. The Mass of Christian burial will begin at 9:00AM Monday, March 5, 2012 at his residence under the direction of Fr. Ed Fronske. Interment will follow the services at the Red Hill Cemetery in Cedar Creek, Arizona.
