Seymour Marmor

September 20, 1927 — January 15, 2012

Seymour Marmor died Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012 at his home under the auspices of Evercare Hospice at Park Regency in Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona. He was 84 years old. Seymour, affectionately known as "Simon", was born on Tuesday, September 20, 1927 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to his parents, the late Moses and Fay (Schuster) Marmor. While still a teenager, Simon enlisted in The United States Army and bravely served his country during WWII. He returned home to a hero's welcome and, throughout his long life, always appreciated the freedom, for which, he so valiantly fought. Simon was a brilliant and intelligent man. Following his college education he worked as a Technical Illustrator in the Aerospace Industry for many, many years. He was married to his beautiful wife, Micheline (Kaplan) Marmor for several years before she died on January 25, 1999. He moved to Arizona in 2000, where he lived the remainder of his retirement years in Chandler, Arizona. Simon is survived by a daughter, Rachelle A. Marmor of Chandler, Arizona. A private family graveside service, including Military Honors, will take place at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York at a later date. His daughter, Rachelle, is appreciative for all the love and support she has received during these difficult days and is especially grateful for the prayers offered up in her behalf.
