Luther Ethelbah, Jr.

Luther Ethelbah, Jr., also known as "Jay" or "J.R." was born on November 28, 1964 at the McNary Hospital in McNary, Apache County, Arizona. He went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 4, 2012 at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona. Jay was a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Al Dammon Saudi Arabia. He served in the US Navy, US Army, the 1404th National Guard and was an active member of the American Legion Post #60 of Whiteriver and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #2364 from Pinetop Lakeside. He was decorated with the following medals; Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Lapel Pin, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Battle E. Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Coast Guard Special Operations Ribbon, Enlisted Surface War Battle E. Ribbon, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Jay is survived by his mother, Vine Kinney Ethelbah; brothers, Roger Ethelbah, Sr., Lonnie Ethelbah, Sr., Anthony Ethelbah, Sr., Henry Ethelbah, Mark Ethelbah; sisters, Flora Jensen, Margaret Smith, Phyllis Larzelere, Mary Ethelbah, Gina Loas, Stephanie Baylish. He has many nieces, nephews and relatives as well. A two-night wake in his honor will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the residence of Vine Ethelbah 701 N. 1st Ave. Whiteriver, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Aday Memorial Hall, with Pastor Gary Lupe officiating. Concluding Services and Interment will be held at the Canyon Day Cemetery.
