Eugene Slaton

Eugene Slaton, of Overgaard, Navajo County, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family December 22, 2011 at his home in Overgaard. He was 77. Eugene was born on August 18, 1934 in Franklin, Warren County, Ohio to the late Lillard and Bertha (Clemmons) Slaton. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he will be missed by all. An avid outdoorsman he loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the beauty of the White Mountains. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shelby Slaton of Overgaard, Arizona; sons, Bob Slaton of Oklahoma and Scott Slaton of Overgaard, Arizona; daughter, Sheri (Bill) Cook of Taylor, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Betty (Gene) Smith of Carlisle, Ohio, Bonnie Rodgers of Middletown, Ohio, Sondra (Wayne) Gibson of Middletown, Ohio and Brenda (Tim) Pate of Florida. He was preceded in death by daughters, Cricket Slaton and Vickie Burggraf and a son, Michael Slaton. Private services are planned.
