Karen Jean Beaver

Our loving wife and mother, Karen Jean Beaver. died Friday, December 9, 2011 at her home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona from pancreatic cancer. She was born on September 30, 1955 at Fort Belvoir in Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia to Gerald and Ruth (Stumpf) Hughes. Karen loved to help young people get their start in life any way that she could. She enjoyed working at the Show Low Chamber of Commerce providing information to the many visitors that passed through town. Karen felt that her kitchen was the heart of her home. She spent as much time as she could in her kitchen and always looked forward to preparing and cooking meals for her family and friends. No one ever left her home hungry. She was a fabulous homemaker to her family and found great joy serving the needs of her family. Her greatest joy in life was being the wife of her husband, Richard. Theirs was a marriage made in heaven and truly were each other's best friend. Karen is survived by her husband, Richard Beaver of Show Low, Arizona; daughter, Amy Lynn Beaver of Show Low, Arizona; her parents: Gerald & Ruth Hughes of Tucson, Arizona; brother, Curtis Hughes of Phoenix, Arizona and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Charles Beaver. A Memorial Service will be held on 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 700 N. Central Avenue in Show Low, Arizona.
