Richard Lincoln Flynn died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home in Pinedale, Navajo County, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 69 years old. He was born on March 10, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Thomas Lincoln and Elizabeth Ann (Shockroo) Flynn. Richard was a long-time member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Show Low and Lakeside, Arizona. He was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Richard served in The U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He loved to tinker around with his hands and loved to work on anything mechanical or technical as he could fix just about anything. Richard also had a serious passion for locomotives and trains. Also, to keep himself busy, he enjoyed repairing "fixer-up" homes as a hobby and turning them into show places. He was very talented with his hobby. Richard is survived by: his wife, Nancy Ruth (Pike) Flynn of Pinedale, Arizona; 3 children: Joseph Richard (Amanda) Flynn of Maricopa, Arizona, Paul Thomas Flynn of Maricopa, Arizona, Daniel James (Lisa) Flynn of Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Robert (Nancy) Flynn of Swansea, Massachusetts; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Usher. A special memorial service was held, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 201 E. Whipple Street in Show Low, Arizona. Arrangements were cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
