Walter Hubert Oglesby

Walter Hubert Oglesby, age 86, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away peacefully at 4:17AM on October 11, 2011 at his home in Show Low. Walter was born in Morenci, Greenlee County, Arizona on August 23, 1925 to the late Jefferson and Mary (Simmons) Oglesby. Walter spent his youth in Pinos Altos, New Mexico before moving to California where he joined the United States Air Force and served 2 years before being discharged. Following his discharge he moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he met Mary Lou Pickett in 1948. Walter was employed by Allied Signal in Phoenix, Arizona for 35 years before his retirement. Walter and Mary Lou loved to spend the winter months in Phoenix and the summer months in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona. They were active members at the First Baptist Church in Show Low where they enjoyed volunteering their time to church functions. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Oglesby of Show Low, Arizona; his 4 sons, Michael, Kelly, Scott (Kathy), Kevin (Kelly Sue) Oglesby; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held in the spring.
