Linda Lee Morphis

June 11, 1956 — September 17, 2011

Linda Lee Morphis of Snowflake, Arizona died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona following a lengthy illness. She was 55 years old. Linda was born on June 11, 1956 in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon to the late James and Nancy Eleanor (Bevan) Forcia. She moved to Arizona from her native Oregon in 1986 and found her heaven on earth in Snowflake, Arizona. She and her husband have a beautiful ranch where she enjoyed living the "Country Life." She married David Lloyd Morphis on July 31, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada and most recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary together. As a young girl, Linda learned the value of hard work. For many years she, and her husband, worked for Westco Construction Company out of Pinetop, Arizona. She was a loyal and dependable worker and was able to do the work of any man. She loved her job! She learned to appreciate the simple things in life and found that her greatest joys were in the great-out-of-doors. Linda was a great animal lover and cared for many pets over the years including her dogs, cats and horses. She loved to escape the pressures of this world by jumping on her horses and going for long rides as she was an accomplished horsewoman. Whenever atop her horses, Linda always was on the lookout for rocks. Her family will always remember her as a great rock hunter. She has a beautiful collection of rocks that will forever be treasured by her family. Linda is survived by: her husband, David Morphis of Snowflake, Arizona; her daughter, Jennifer (Timothy L.) Towner of Snowflake, Arizona; her son, Jason Thompson of Snowflake, Arizona; 2 sisters: Vicki (Dan) McCullom of Auburn, Washington, Cynthia (Marty) Dowling of Auburn, Washington; brother, Tom Keller of the Pacific Nortwest; 3 grandchildren: Sarah, Michael and Darian, all of Snowflake. A private family service will be held at her ranch as Linda is laid to rest among the beautiful trees and bushes that dot her little "piece of heaven."
