Eldus Earl Fitzsimmons, 89, passed away from this life on September 11, 2011 in Heber, Navajo County, Arizona. He was the 4th child of Thomas and Addie (Barksdale) Fitzsimmons. He was born in Guion, Izard County, Arkansas and spent his younger years working the farm and the railroad. Eldus moved to Cashmere, WA in the fall of 1951 to pick fruit. In March of 1952 he brought his wife and 2 girls to Heber, Arizona to work in the logging business. He retired from Reid Smith Logging in 1987. He leaves behind his 2nd wife, Hazel Fitzsimmons of Heber, Arizona; daughters, Flora (Jack) Reynolds of Holbrook, Arizona and Wilma Fouts of Flagstaff, Arizona; step-daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Price and Carla Welch; step-son, John (Wilma) Whitely; 4 grandchildren, Jackie Reynolds, Jeannie (Brian) Gorce, Deana (Art) Arguello, Daniel (Mindy) Fouts; 7 great-grandchildren, Chane' Waite, Alyssa Gorce, Tristan Gorce, Brandon Gorce, Jacob Arguello, James Arguello, Austin Fouts; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Chase Gorce, Cordell Hayes, Braedan Hayes, Thomas Earl Hayes, Faith Waite, Amethyst Waite; sister, Lauretta Coleman; 2 sister-in-laws, Ireta and Bonnie Fitzsimmons. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a step-son. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday September 17, 2011 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 2727 Church Lane, Overgaard, Arizona. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Arkansas.
